Coastal Vancouver

The Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local HRMA activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

HRMA members are encouraged to participate on the Advisory Council and/or provide suggestions and ideas of local interest. The Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council welcomes input from all HRMA members who would like to be involved with the growth of HR practice in the region. A call for volunteers on the Council is made in the spring each year.

Tyler Cheyne

Chair – Tyler Cheyne, CHRP

Tyler is an HR Business Partner and Program Manager, Training and Development at STEMCELL Technologies. He has volunteered with both the Greater and Coastal Vancouver regions in a variety of roles for over five years. Tyler is the HRMA Rising Star Award recipient for 2013 and volunteered as an Advisor on the HMRA Conference Planning Committee for two years. He is a graduate of the UBC Sauder School of Business with a specialization in Human Resources.

Incoming Chair + CHRP & Professional Development – Fiona Ho

Fiona is an HR Generalist at Fortinet Technologies. She is a graduate of Sauder School of Business at UBC and previously served as the post secondary student representative while there. She is also the Chair of the New Professionals Roundtable and the most recent recipient of the HRMA Rising Star Award for 2014. This is her third year on the Advisory Council.

Administration – Danielle Lewis

Danielle works as the Recruiter for the BC Region for Purolator Inc, Canada’s leading integrated freight and parcel solutions provider. She recently graduated with a Human Resources Management Diploma from BCIT after completing her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. This is her first year volunteering with the advisory council. 

Kendra_Feenstra

Awards – Kendra Feenstra, CHRP

Kendra is the Human Resources Generalist for DMCL Chartered Accountants where she has the overall responsibility for the HR function within the organization. Kendra plays a key role in the development, implementation and enhancement of HR initiatives and programs while supporting organizational objectives and ensuring all aspects of Human Resources are aligned with business strategy. This is her second year serving on the Advisory Council as the Awards portfolio lead.

Darelle_Odo

CHRP & Professional Development – Darelle Odo, CHRP

Darelle is a HR Coordinator with West Fraser Timber. She has a Bachelors in Business from the University of Victoria and previous experience at a recruitment firm and in marketing. This is Darelle’s second year volunteering on the HRMA Advisory Council and she is thrilled to be able to give back to an association and profession that she has and continues to grow in.

Jessica_Lau

Communications – Jessica Lau

Jessica is the HR Coordinator at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. She also worked at Fairmont Chateau Whistler and in Hong Kong as  a recruitment consultant. Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration and Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management from Capilano University and was the recipient of the Provincial Premier’s One World International Scholarship and BCHRMA Scholarship. She is passionate about diversity, leadership, development and travelling.

Raluca_Manolache

Communications – Raluca Manolache

Raluca  is a driven HR professional with experience in media, government and not-for-profit organizations who enjoys growing her HR knowledge through good books and great people alike. She is an actively involved member of People Talk’s advisory committee and a writer for the People Talk Magazine and the HR Voice. This is her first year on the Advisory Council.

Christine _Ramage

Membership – Christine Ramage, CHRP

A community minded, socially engaged, Certified Human Resources Professional, Christine comes with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Diploma in Human Resources Management from The British Columbia Institute of Technology. Christine has worked in Human Resources within the Financial Services, High-tech Software, Entertainment & Gaming industries, and currently manages Human Resources for Tree Island Steel, a BC based manufacturing company.  This is Christine’s first year as part of the Advisory Council.

Kathryn_Moore

Membership – Kathryn Moore, CHRP

Kathryn is an HR Generalist at the University of British Columbia, providing services to the Development & Alumni Engagement and Communications & Community Partnership portfolios, and is an alumna of UBC’s Sauder School of Business with specializations in HR and Marketing. She previously worked in a generalist capacity at EY (formerly Ernst & Young) and in international development in Cambodia. This is Kathryn’s first year serving on the Advisory Council.

Pauline Chan

Mentoring – Pauline Chan, CHRP

Pauline is currently working as an HR Coordinator. She completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from SFU. Her areas of interests include onboarding and training, health and wellness, process mapping, entrepreneurship, strategy and leadership development. This is her second year on the Advisory Council.

Angie_Ng

Mentoring – Angie Ng, CHRP

Angie is a People Generalist with O2E Brands, parent company of 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, WOW 1 DAY PAINTING and You Move Me. She has her Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University. She has previously been on the Greater Vancouver Advisory Council as mentoring and communications lead. This is her first year on the Advisory Council in Coastal Vancouver.

Serena_Aroon

Networking – Serena Aroon, CHRP

Serena is a Talent Acquisition Advisor with SNC Lavalin, Canada’s largest Engineering, Procurement and Construction firm. For the last 7 years, Serena has taken on recruiting roles though her experience includes onboarding, labor relations, employee relations, compensation and performance management. Serena holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and a Certificate in Human Resources Management from BCIT.  In addition to the HRMA, Serena has also volunteered with Dress for Success as a Career Advisor for the last 2 years. This is Serena’s first year as an Advisory Council Member.

CourtneyMcKissock

Networking – Courtney McKissock, CHRP

Courtney is currently an HR Advisor at Omicron Canada Inc. She is a graduate of University of Western Ontario where she completed her Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies with a specialization in Human Resources. Courtney started volunteering at events with HRMA several years ago and this is her second year on the Advisory Council as the Networking Co-Lead.

Kevin_Chiu

Post Secondary – Kevin Chiu

Kevin is an HR Business Partner with the BMO Financial Group. This is his first year on the Advisory Council, with prior involvement as a post-secondary student representative and as a member of the mentoring portfolio. He is a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at UBC.

Laura_Liden

Post Secondary – Laura Liden

Laura is currently working as a Health and Benefits Analyst with Morneau Shepell. She recently graduated from BCIT’s Human Resources Management Diploma Program after completing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia. This is Laura’s fourth year volunteering with the advisory council.

May_Foggo

Volunteering – May Foggo, CHRP

May is the Director of Community Service and Human Resources at St. John Ambulance, a not-for-profit organization. Her HR and volunteer management experience includes recruitment and selection, policies and procedures, administration, employee/volunteer relations and risk management. This is her third year with the Advisory Council.

Volunteering – Mari Perugini

Mari is an HR Generalist at St. John Ambulance. She has worked at various international non-profit organizations and has expertise in leadership development, volunteer engagement and retention, and conflict management. This is her second year serving on the Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council.
