Fraser Valley

The Fraser Valley Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local HRMA activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

HRMA members are encouraged to participate on the Advisory Council and/or provide suggestions and ideas of local interest. The Fraser Valley Advisory Council welcomes input from all HRMA members who would like to be involved with the growth of HR practice in the region. A call for volunteers on the Council is made in the spring each year.

Your Fraser Valley Advisory Council:


Chair – Karen Ayres, CHRP

Karen is President and Principal of Corporate Inspirations, an executive coaching and consulting firm. She is a strategically skilled change management professional with experience in integration projects for mergers and acquisitions leading high powered complex teams through transition. It is Karen’s fifth year serving on council.

Incoming Chair – Dee Sharma, CHRP

Dee is the Director of Human Resources for CGA-Canada. He has 13+ years of experience in people strategy and organizational development through effective recruiting, professional development, succession and strategic planning and HR metrics. This is Dee’s second year on the advisory council.

Administration – Amandeep Kochar, CHRP

Amandeep is currently working as an HR Generalist. She has experience in all areas of HR, including health and safety, payroll, benefits administration, and full-cycle recruitment. Prior to getting into HR she worked in accounting, gaining knowledge of both Canadian and US tax laws. This is her first year serving on the advisory council.

Awards – Brenda Cliffe, CHRP

Brenda Cliffe is currently the Human Resource and Finance Manager for Langley Community Services Society. Brenda has worked for various industries and brings over 16 years of experience. This is Brenda’s first year serving on the advisory council.

CHRP & Professional Development – Lindsay Thorpe, CHRP

Lindsay is the Human Resources Specialist for E.B. Horsman & Son, an electrical wholesaler based out of South Surrey. Lindsay is an avid social HR enthusiast and her areas of interest include employee engagement and corporate health and wellness promotion. This is Lindsay’s second year on the advisory council.

 Diane Taylor

Communications – Diane Taylor, CHRP

Diane is the Principal of Glow Leadership. She is a speaker, facilitator, coach and blogger with 20 years of corporate HR experience. Her areas of expertise include leadership development, talent strategy, corporate culture design, proactive workplace wellness and executive coaching. An HRMA member for 16 years, Diane was a finalist for the Award of Excellence – Human Resources Professional of the Year in 2012. This is Diane’s first year on council.



Membership – Dan Szezepaniak

Dan is completing the last year of a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an HR concentration and an economics minor through UFV. He also holds a Professional Communications Certificate, and his areas of HR experience include workplace health and safety, recruitment and selection, trades safety coordination, training and development, and operations management. Dan is currently working as an HR Generalist and business consultant for a medical clinic in the Fraser Valley, and he is looking forward to a challenging career in human resources. This is his first year serving on the  advisory council.

Mentoring – Gena Teesdale, CHRP

Gena is the Compensation Analyst for Prospera Credit Union and has worked in a variety of positions within the financial services industry for nearly ten years. This is her third year on the advisory council.

Lyne Moussa

Networking – Lyne Moussa, CHRP

Lyne is the Manager of Disability, Health & Safety at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union. She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Baccalaureate in Human Resources a Diploma in Disability and Rehabilitation Management and a certificate in Ergonomics. This is her fifth year serving on the advisory council.

 Jayne Barron

Post Secondary Liaison – Jayne Barron, CHRP

Jayne is the Director of Workforce Solutions Group and has over 15 years’ experience as an HR and Career Management Consultant. Jayne’s expertise is in learning and development, career coaching and business consulting where she focuses her energies on helping individuals and organizations with continuous improvement and growth.  This is Jayne’s third year on council.

Hayley McIvor

Volunteering – Hayley McIvor

Hayley is completing her last semester of her Bachelor of Business    Administration Degree specializing in Human Resources at Capilano University.  During her time at Capilano she served as President of the Capilano HRMA and looking forward to beginning her career in Human Resources. It is her 1st year on Council.
