The Northern Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local HRMA activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

Your Northern Advisory Council:

Sabrina Mowbray

Chair – Sabrina Angus, CHRP

Sabrina is the Human Resources Manager at Sinclar Forest Products Group and is in her fourth year on the council.

Kara Biles

Outgoing Chair – Kara Biles, CHRP

Kara is the Manager, Workforce Planning at Canfor, and a part-time Human Resources Instructor at the University of Northern BC and the College of New Caledonia. She is in her fifth year on the advisory council.

Administrator – Branden Evans

Branden is a student in the HR program at UNBC and is in his second year with the advisory council.


Awards – Kerry Roberts

Kerry is an HR Advisor at UNBC and operates the Marquis Advertising Group. He joins the Advisory Council  for the first time this year.


CHRP and Professional Development, Post Secondary – Anne Harris, CHRP

Anne is Operations Manager – International Education at the College of New Caledonia. She rejoins the advisory council this year after previously being a member.

CHRP & Professional Development, Mentoring – Stefanie Young, CHRP

Stefanie is a Human Resources Advisor at the City of Prince George and is currently on maternity leave. This is her third year on the advisory council.


Membership, Volunteering, Mentoring – Fraser Deacon, CHRP

Fraser is president of Northern BC Recruitment Solutions and becomes a member of the Advisory Council for the first time this year.

Networking, Communications – Alex Castley, CHRP

Alex is an Engagement & Communications Manager at Integris Credit Union and is in his second year on the advisory council.


Networking, Communications – Jason Hamborg, CHRP

Jason is a recent graduate of UNBC majoring in Human Resources Management and owner of 6ixSigma Productions. He joins the advisory council for the first time this year.


Post Secondary – Joanne Hanson, CHRP

Joanne is the Executive Director at the Ministry of Justice, instructor in the Post Diploma HR program at College of New Caledonia plus she runs a small courier and transport company. She is in her fifth year on the council.
